My path to the legal profession has not been a traditional one, but it is precisely that journey which has given me the determination, willingness, and level of commitment I bring to every matter that comes across my desk.
Although personal hardships early in my life resulted in my educational journey beginning later than many of my peers, I never lost sight of my goals. By age 19, I was a single mother facing the responsibilities of adulthood while working to build a future for myself and my family, and like many people who find themselves navigating difficult circumstances, I quickly learned the value of the “street smarts” I already possessed, driven by perseverance, self-reliance, and sheer determination to succeed.
At age 25, I finally obtained my GED and began attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where I ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating with honors in my minor, English. Completing my college education while balancing work, family, and life’s challenges remains one of my proudest accomplishments, and my daughter’s face smiling at me from the stands remains one of my fondest memories.
In October 2001, my life took an unexpected turn when complications from gastric bypass surgery led to years of serious health challenges that significantly affected both my personal life and professional goals. For many years, ambitions I had worked hard to achieve—including my long-standing dream of becoming an attorney—had to be placed on hold while I focused on my health and recovery.
In 2024, I was fortunate to undergo a corrective surgery that has given me what I view as a second chance. As my health has improved, I have been able to return my focus to the legal profession and to goals that have motivated me for much of my life. That renewed sense of purpose is one of the reasons I founded Surrogate’s Court Solutions, LLC. I believe legal and procedural support should be accessible, understandable, and affordable, and I am committed to helping people navigate complex court processes without unnecessary expense.
My interest in the law has been a constant throughout my adult life. Over the years, I have worked alongside attorneys, fiduciaries, families, and members of the public navigating the complexities of Surrogate’s Court and related proceedings. Through that experience, I have developed a deep appreciation for the challenges people face when confronted with legal procedures they do not understand and court systems that often feel overwhelming.
I founded Surrogate’s Court Solutions, LLC because I recognized a need for knowledgeable, reliable, and professional procedural support. Whether assisting an attorney with a complicated filing, helping a fiduciary fulfill statutory obligations, or assisting a family through the procedural requirements of an estate matter, my goal is always the same: to provide clarity, efficiency, and peace of mind.
My experience extends beyond Surrogate’s Court and includes matters arising in Supreme Court, Civil Court, and the U.S. District Courts. This broader perspective has proven particularly valuable in situations where litigation and estate administration intersect, including settlement recovery matters, death compromise proceedings, infant’s compromises, EPTL § 5-4.6 petitions, petitions to lift restrictions, amended petitions, and other specialized proceedings.
My commitment to legal education continues today. I previously completed coursework through a legal studies program and remain dedicated to pursuing my long-standing goal of becoming an attorney. I am currently preparing for the JD-Next examination, which I plan to take in August 2026. I work with attorneys and members of the public throughout New York State and believe strongly that knowledge empowers people. When individuals understand the process before them, they are better equipped to make informed decisions and move forward with confidence. That philosophy serves as the foundation of my work and the guiding principle behind Surrogate’s Court Solutions, LLC.
Whether you are an attorney seeking dependable per diem support or a member of the public attempting to navigate a difficult and unfamiliar process, my commitment remains the same: to provide professional, responsive, and cost-effective assistance and to remain by your side until your matter has concluded.
